About our classes
Our classes are taught by Richard Madden (3rd Dan). Richard started Aikido in South Africa in 1989. He moved to the UK in 2000 and resumed training under sensei Andy Hathaway (Shihan) at the London Aikido Club. The Canterbury Takemusu Aiki Dojo is a subsidiary of the London Aikido Club and continues to take instruction from Sensei Hathaway.
Teaching at the London Aikido Club comes down the direct line from the founder, Morehei Ueshiba, through to Morihiro Saito Shihan, who sensei Andy Hathaway studied with for 20+ years.
We are all part of the United Kingdom Takemusu Aiki Federation.
Richard is fully insured, and a registered Aikido coach with the British Aido Board (BAB).
